Architecture

CBNRM Net consists of the following Sections: (1) About, (2) Resources, (3) Members, and (4) Support. In each Section, knowledge is organized in up to three levels of hierarchically organized knowledge elements (see Page Knowledge management and knowledge sharing and Group Structural terms).

Section 1: About

This Section, which contains overviews and introductions to CBNRM, the website and CBNRM Net, contains the following categories:

1. CBNRM - Presents CBNRM (to be implemented, see Category Overview)
2. Overview - Presents an overview over CBNRM and CBNRM Net
3. Us - Presents the global CBNRM community of practice
4. CBNRM Net - Presents the CBNRM Net web site.

Section 2: Resources

This Section, which is the main knowledge archive aside from section Members, contains the following categories:

1. Activities and interventions - Knowledge on the bureaucratic, judicial, policy, and political levels
2. Conferences, seminars and workshops - Knowledge on conferences, seminars and workshops
3. Countries - Knowledge on countries
4. Dictionaries - Knowledge on dictionaries and terms
5. Internet - Links to relevant resources on the Internet
6. Links - Special links
7. Literature - Literature database
8. CBNRM Net Newsletters
9. CBNRM Net Papers
10. Organizations - Knowledge on organizations, broadly defined
11. Projects - Knowledge on projects and programs, and other planned investment and/or change activities
12. Regions - Knowledge on regions
13. Special - Special knowledge
14. Terminology - Definitions and usage of terms and acronyms, and translations between selected languages
15. Tools - Knowledge on analytical and practical tools
16. Topics - Knowledge on ecosystems, issues and sectors
17. Training and capacity building - Knowledge on training and capacity building

Section 3: Members

This Section, which addresses CBNRM Net members' communication and knowledge needs, and with access limited to CBNRM Net members (see Category Membership), contains the following categories:

1. Archive - Archive of old CBNRM Net pages
2. Announcements - For posting announcements and questions about CBNRM activities and news (to be implemented)
3. Case studies - CBNRM case studies on projects and other applied activities
4. Curriculum Vitae - Members' curriculum vitae (CV)
5. Documents - CBNRM documents, including reports, evaluations and papers that can be downloaded
6. Forum - Threaded discussion group devoted to practical CBNRM issues, including activities, events, issues and topics (to be implemented)
7. Funding - Opportunities for funding
8. Logs - Links to CBNRM material on the Internet
9. Membership Application Form - Accepted Membership Application Forms
10. Membership database - Database on information about members (to be implemented)
11. Networking - Issues pertaining to networking aspects of the global CBNRM community of practice generally, and CBNRM Net specifically (to be implemented)
12. Register of members - Lists of the members of CBNRM Net
13. Use statistics - web site use statistics
14. Vacancy - Vacancies and consultancy opportunities

Section 4: Support

This Section, which contains information and services that support CBNRM Net members and other CBNRM Net users, contains the following categories:

1. Contact information - Contact information
2. FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) - Information on key aspects of CBNRM and CBNRM Net
3. Forms - Forms to facilitate communication between members, users and CBNRM Net management
4. Guidance - Detailed guidance on how to prepare CBNRM knowledge for publication on CBNRM Net
5. Help - Advise on a number of issues
6. Membership - Benefits of membership, and includes a link to the Membership Application Form
7. Navigation - Site map and Page index
8. News - Major updates and changes
9. Search - Site search engine. Advice on how to search for CBNRM knowledge on CBNRM Net and, more generally, on the Internet and WWW, is available here
10. Suggest - A form for sending information on CBNRM Net to friends and colleagues

Other

Other important Pages, Elements and Functions include:

1. Page Map and Page Index - Navigational aids that increase the functionality of CBNRM Net
2. Main search interface - Search engine for searching CBNRM Net, as well as links and advice on researching CBNRM knowledge on the Internet
3. Help - General help on a number of topics
4. News gives brief notes on changes, updates and knowledge posted
5. Suggest - Form to be used to inform friends and colleagues about CBNRM Net
6. Supporters - Acknowledges the individuals and organizations that are contributing to CBNRM Net, in one way or another
7. Terms and conditions - Sets out the reciprocal rights and obligations of CBNRM Net members, other website users and CBNRM Net management
